THUA Classes
Welcome To Their Highnesses’ University of Avacal!
Their Highnesses’ University of Avacal (THUA) is pleased to offer you a
variety of subjects with this year’s curriculum. Please note that classes
may be added, cancelled or rescheduled until the very last minute, so please
check the class board outside the THUA Registration area.
Registration is taken on a first come, first served basis at the THUA
registration desk. The class identification numbers are in brackets beside
the class description. Once classes are full, you will be put on a waiting
list. Not everyone who signs up for classes shows up for them so there is
still a good chance you will be able to take your class. You may show up at
the beginning of the class and check with the instructor.
Locations: There will be 3 tents /sunshades set up for classes,
designated as A, B and C. If a class has an alternate location, it will be
described as such.
Fees: There is NO registration fee for THUA classes. However, some
classes have a fee associated in order for the instructors to cover the cost
of materials provided.
Hours of Operation during Quad War: The THUA Registration desk will
be staffed from 10 am to 5 pm Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm Saturday and 10 am to
2:30 pm Sunday. Registration will be closed from Noon to 1 pm each day. At
the desk you can come to register and pay any class fee. For those who
pre-registered, THUA will have sheets for each student tallying total fees
due.
THUA Records: Class attendance is taken at all THUA classes and any people
who haven't pre-registered must sign in. A student signature on the
attendance sheet is required for the instructor to receive reimbursement.
Students also get THUA credits from taking THUA classes.
Reimbursements: If you paid fees for a THUA class and didn’t attend, please
come to the THUA registration desk after the scheduled time of the class and
we will refund those fees. You may deregister at any time from the course
and any fees paid will be refunded.
THUA Teachers Information: A few minutes prior to the scheduled start of
your class, please come to the THUA registration desk to pick up your class
attendance sheet. The class attendance sheet will show you who has
registered, who is on a waiting list and who has paid for your class. Please
use the sheet to take your class’ attendance and write-in all the names of
those who haven’t pre-registered. If some students haven't paid, YOU are
responsible for getting your class fees from them directly prior to handing
over any of your materials. The THUA registration area will have change to
help you break big bills. Once your class is done, please bring back the
attendance sheet to the THUA desk. THUA staff will then pay you the fees
owed by the people who attended and paid in advance.
Enjoy your Learning Experience at Quad War!

Development (C6)
Instructor:
Lord Peregrine Falconer, the Navigator
Class
Description: You
wake up in the morning … your head is fuzzy from all the ale/beer/mead/wine/acquavit/schnapps/usquebea
you drank last night. You remember (with difficulty) who you are, where you
are, and what year it is. You get out of bed – what does it look like? –
and scan the room – what does it look like? How many people are in the
bedroom or bed with you – should they be?? You feel hungry – do you eat
anything in the morning? What (more ale/beer, etc. doesn’t appeal right
now)? You put on your clothes – at least they look familiar! – and check
your pocket for coins. WAIT ! YOU DON’T HAVE A POCKET! So you check your
pouch and find a handful of groats/pennies/marks/schillers/livres/dubloons
or whatever. And then open the door – what is the weather like? Are you
dressed for it? Are you dressed for the tasks you will do today?
In Basic Persona Development you have found who you are and where and when
you live. Advanced Persona Development will explore ways to discover what
you do, how you do things, and maybe even why.
